Hey Guys! Today is going to be a life update post. First of all I got my learners permit so I can start learning how to drive!! I am already 16, but we decided to wait a little bit before taking on that responsibility 😄
Next, I officially began my Junior year of high school. I can’t believe I am already a junior! For science this year I am taking Marine biology and it is going really well. I really enjoy it so far so fingers crossed it stays that way. I start my dual credit College Algebra class at our local community college tomorrow, which to be honest, I’m not looking forward to, however I will be trying me best and working hard.
My mom and dad celebrated their 20th Wedding Anniversary on the 17th! Here’s them this past May while we were in Europe. On their wedding day ☺️👰💍A pic from when they were dating.
The next day, the 18th was my mom’s birthday! That night on the way home from church there was a beautiful sunset:
Yesterday, we had our first test for Chi Rho Black Belt Academy! (Which is the martial arts school my dad and I started) we took our students over to our other school and had a combined test. They did great and it made me a very proud instructor! Here’s a pic of our CRBBA students after the test. (One tested a different day and wasn’t able to make this pic) 🎉💛 our new Gold Belts!
Life’s been crazy, but life’s been amazing! My mom is helping my grandparents move from St. Louis to here so we have been getting ready for that. My mom is amazing and has sacrificed her time, comfort, sleep, sanity, and life into helping her parents. She is a great example of a servant and I hope and will one day be just like her 💜
Hope you enjoyed my little online diary entry, lol. I will be posting more now that I’ve gotten into a regular schedule with school and everything else 😄 -Maddie
Mark 7:13 “Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”
So often we as humans nullify the Word of God & His commandments in order to fit Christ into OUR lifestyles. We put traditions or ceremonies above prayer or real worship. We focus more on being right and having more knowledge than being kind and loving. Sometimes we even choose to say that something is acceptable when it’s not because we want to justify ourselves and our sin. Not only is this wrong & twisting the truth of scripture, it is saying that our lifestyle, our choices, & our mindsets are higher than Jesus’. If we are true followers of Christ, we should strive to follow God’s will.
The theme verse for my church a few years ago was Psalm 37:4, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” When we delight in the Lord, our hearts’ desires will be what God desires. Instead of trying to put God into OUR lifestyles, in a way to be comfortable, try living your life devoted to Christ & let HIM choose OUR lifestyle, one that’s wholeheartedly serving Him. Micah 6:8 says, “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Stop getting caught up in traditions, and legalistic religion. Instead, spend time with God and reading the Bible and begin falling in love with Jesus Christ. One of the last things I want to be accused of is nulifying and misusing God and His word.
“Pray that your faith may be no sham faith, but a giving up of your soul entirely to Christ. That your love to Christ may be no rhapsody, but a matter of real heart affection. Your walk may not be for others to see, but a walk before God.” -Charles Spurgeon
When life changes, God is good, When life is scary, God is good, When life is sad, God is good, When life is good, God is good!
These were the different themes each night at my church’s VBS this year. Even though we have said things like this since we were little and we say we believe it, sometimes we forget the meaning behind those words. Life is hard. No one lives a perfect life. There will be amazing times, and there will be difficult times. I love how no matter what is going on in our lives, whether it’s change, sadness, good, or scary, God is good, and God is ALWAYS good! As a teenager, my life has changed a lot these past few years and I know there is much change ahead. Having God as a constant in my life is a huge blessing and help when change is difficult.
1 Samuel 15:29 “He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.”
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
*Also, if you could keep my church in prayer right now as we have had many people pass away recently and it’s been difficult for our church family. Thanks!
